Norman G. Branson founded Branson Instruments in 1946 in Danbury, CT, to harness ultrasonicenergy for industrial purposes. The first product was the Audigage - a non-destructivematerial thickness tester.

The company expanded in 1953 byforming Branson Cleaning Equipment Company to develop ultrasonic cleaning equipmentfor emerging industrial technologies. Today, we still manufacture a variety of precision cleaning equipment under the Branson Ultrasonics name.

In 1960, Branson acquired SonicEnergy Corporation, which designed and manufactured the Sonifier® processor for biological research. Growth continued withthe founding in 1963 of Branson Sonic Power Company to expand the uses of high-intensityultrasonic equipment. It was here that the development and manufacture of ultrasonicplastics joining equipment and technology began. Since 1984, Branson has beenamong more than 50 autonomous divisions of St. Louis-based Emerson, a Fortune 100 company.

Branson Sonic Power Company andBranson Cleaning Equipment Company merged in 1986 and the next year combinedresources in Danbury. The resulting company was Branson Ultrasonics Corporation, dedicated to pursuing new developments in plastics assembly and precision cleaning.Today, Branson also develops and produces non-ultrasonic plastics joining technologies, including linear vibration welding, orbital vibration welding, hot plate welding, and spin welding at our Rochester, NY, location.

In 1994, we received ISO 9001certification. We manufacture CE compliant versions of most of our products. We are also ISO 14001 certified for our environmental efforts.

Our focus today, as it was in1946, is to meet customers' requirements with leading technology, quality products, and responsive service. In an industry full of buzzwords, promises, and claims, the quality and integrity of our services speak for themselves.
