Branson's Latest Innovation -- Totally Digital Ultrasonic Systems

The power and benefits you need

2000X Systems are available in 20, 30, and 40 kHz. The power supplies have increased power output for all frequencies: 20 kHz units are rated at 1250, 2500, and 4000 Watts 30 kHz is available in 750 and 1500 Watts; and 40 kHz are available in 400 and 800 Watts. Four levels of control are available:

2000X t/ae

  • Weld by time, ground detect
  • Available in 3 frequencies - 20, 30, and 40 kHz
  • Digital amplitude setting
  • Multiple language choices
  • Increased power levels

Process Control -- The 2000X t/ae units have built-in digital amplitude control for fine tuning of critical applications; self-diagnostics and monitoring; printing capability for providing a record for future comparison and validation; presets for ease of setup and changeover of applications, and password protection feature for lock-out of unauthorized process changes once the equipment is set up for a specific application. An Ethernet card is optional.

The totally digital power supply has 4-line display and features:

  • True Digital Autotune with Memory (AT/M) - Provides fully-automatic tuning and stores horn frequency at the end of each weld
  • Total Amplitude Control
  • Programmable Starting Ramp
  • Energy Braking
  • Line / Load Regulation
  • System Protection Monitor (SPM) Five levels of power supply protection are provided: 1) phasing, 2) over voltage, 3) over current, 4) over temperature, and 5) power.

2000X ea/ae

  • Weld by time, energy, peak power, ground detect
  • Available in 3 frequencies - 20, 30, and 40 kHz
  • Digital amplitude setting
  • Patented amplitude profiling
  • Multiple language choices
  • Increased power levels

To the features of the 2000X t/ae, the ea/ae models add

  • Patented Amplitude Stepping for optimization of weld strength and appearance
  • Built-in digital amplitude control - for fine tuning of critical applications
  • Totally Digital Power Supply – with an optional Touchscreen Interface

2000X d/aed

  • Weld by time, energy, peak power, ground detect, collapse, absolute
  • Full VGA touch screen
  • Available in 3 frequencies - 20, 30, and 40 kHz
  • Digital amplitude setting
  • Patented amplitude profiling
  • Multiple language choices including Japanese, Korean, and Chinese
  • Multiple communications options
  • Increased power levels

The d/aed systems feature a full VGA touch screen with simple navigation, graphing, and multiple communications options. A VQSSM (Visual Quality Screen) provides real-time quality monitoring. Additionally, this user interface provides:

  • Process graphing with graph overlay capability – graphing of power, collapse distance, amplitude, force, velocity, and frequency.
  • Power Match Curve:  a feature that allows the user to develop a standard power graph, then set limits for process monitoring.
  • Choice of language for message display and printout – English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, traditional and simplified Chinese
  • USB port for data collection, mouse, printer, etc.
  • Horn signature graph with comparison of up to three graphs
Communications

  • Windows CE Operating System – a fully-functional Windows program specifically designed for non-PC devices
  • Ethernet – permits easy access for networking the welder
  • USB – the addition of this port allows for any USB device to be linked to the unit, including mouse, memory sticks, printers, etc.
  • X-Net – an embedded program that allows for remote monitoring and networking
  • External VGA port – allows for the addition of either a remote monitor or touch screen to the system

2000X f/aef

  • Weld by time, energy, peak power, ground detect, collapse, absolute
  • Full VGA touch screen
  • Graphing
  • Available in 3 frequencies - 20, 30, and 40 kHz
  • Digital amplitude setting
  • Patented amplitude and force profiling
  • Multiple language choices including Japanese, Korean, and Chinese
  • Multiple communications options
  • Digital setting of weld force and downspeed
  • Increased power levels

In addition to all the features and benefits of the 2000X d/aed, Branson’s 2000X f/aef models have digital setting of weld force and downspeed. They also provide process graphing with graph overlay capability which enables graphing of power, collapse distance, amplitude, force, velocity, and frequency.  2000X aef Actuator Provides:

  • Weld force and velocity (downspeed) settable through the VGA interface.
  • Variable Dynamic Triggering provides consistent weld quality by triggering ultrasonic vibrations after a preset force is applied to the part.
  • Dynamic Follow-through ensures the smooth, efficient transmission of ultrasonic energy into the part by maintaining horn/ part contact and force.

The flexibility you need

The flexibility and range of Branson ultrasonic welding systems allows you to select components and create the assembly system that meets your needs, matching system features to your application requirements.

  • For single station, manual production, integrated welders, which combine power supply, controls, and welding stand in a self-contained bench model unit, are available.
  • Hand-held devices are just right for assembling large parts and those with hard-to-reach joint areas.
  • Or, component systems with separately enclosed power supply and actuator allow the components to be separated.
Digital power supplies with multiple control levels and accessories are available, allowing maximum control of process parameters, depending on your applications.

All equipment may be automated for increased productivity.
Simple automated systems are available in the form of rotary systems which are configured to meet your needs. Or, Branson components may be integrated into any level of automated system.

Power supplies are manufactured in standard stand-alone form as well as for use in rack-mounted and panel-mounted configurations for automated systems. For information on th rack mount and panel mount power supplies,
